Message from the director

― University should be a place of light, freedom, and the pursuit of knowledge. ―

President of Hirosaki University of Health and Welfare Junior College

Hajime Shimoda

The founding philosophy of our university is to nurture students into qualified professionals with a rich humanity rooted in the spirit of hospitality and make a broad contribution to society in their respective fields.

There is something you should always keep in mind during your university studies. Students who aim for nursing, medical technology, emergency medical care, care work, and cooking must acquire a lot of experience to become a specialist.

Moreover, I would like you to explore the significance of learning and acquiring knowledge, in other words, realizing and understanding the importance of what you aim for in a job where you cannot afford to make mistakes.

As an aspiring specialist, you are to learn what you must do for society and others and to become an individual with sensitivity and empathy for the pain of others.

A university’s quality is evaluated not only by its buildings or the latest technology and equipment but also by the attitude of each of you towards study. You are undeniably the protagonists of the university.

As the social structure of medical welfare in Japan undergoes significant changes, we will do our utmost to support you in developing yourself to become an excellent specialist and advanced professional.

We sincerely welcome you, with aspirations, to Hirosaki, where the cherry blossoms bloom and Mount Iwaki stands tall.
